Boring out an engine to get more horsepower is a bit of an art form. The actual increase in horsepower will depend on the bore ( the new volume of your cylinders ) and the weight of the car. Keep in mind that when you bore out your motor you are going to have some differences in fuel and air requirements. This means oversize valves need to go in your head or larger injectors and, depending on your ecu and o2 programming, maybe a high performance chip. The actual increase in horsepower is not easily calculated; even with the actual size of the bore and type of car.
I do not think it is possible to get 500 hp out of a Neon engine.
No, a clutch has nothing to do with effeciency of the engine.
No, just putting a engine with 400 horse into a nova from another car will not give you more than 400 horse.
There should be a sticker/stamp an the engine somewhere. It will give you a few specifications about the mower.
They do give more horse power
Intake/exhaust/programmer can give you-10hp-20hp. Anymore you need a cam /intake and or supercharger/turbo/nitrous.
The computer turns the AC clutch off when accelerating for maximum engine power. The AC compressor uses up some engine horse power.
You could put a banks turbo on it if you wanted it would give you more power. Its a work horse engine designed to tow and move a truck around. Its no sports car. its a truck.
brake horse power
It depends on how much money your trying to spend. A good place to start if your adding on to ur current engine would be by adding a cool air intake system. Its very easy to install and pretty cheap. It wont give you alot more horse power but itll give you a little bit. If you have trouble instaalling just watch videos online,
