THE 2003 YAMAHA R1 MAKES 155HP BUT THE 2004 YAMAHA R1 MAKES 180HP

But it depends on whether you're talking about engine horsepower or rear wheel horsepower and also there are many different variables. For example, ambient temperature, ambient pressure, humidity, type of fuel, type of oil, and what type of horsepower measurement you are using. But to give an example my bike is an 06 Yamaha R1 and the specs say it has 180 hp but when i dyno'd it today the actual SAE horsepower with about a 60mph wind (produced by fan for ram-air) was only 150 SAE HP (156 after installing bazzaz fuel manager and tuning). So its safe to assume that what the specs say can differ pretty significantly. Hope this helps.
