Spain has not used the Peseta since 2002. At the time they made the change from Peseta to Euro the exchage rate was 166.386 pesetas for each Euro. At that time then, 1000 pesetas would have been worth or 6 Euros. They no longer have any value.

Right now they are almost worthless, as the Euro has replaced Pesetas and very few currency exchanges are willing to trade such currency. However, the "official" exchange rate is 1 ESP = 0.103375 MXN (Mar 2010). Your 1000 pesetas would be exchanged for 103.38 pesos (equivalent to 6 Euros).
