They are worthless as US currency. Only worth souvenir prices or what a collector will pay for them (not as much as you would think). You will see some outrageous prices on ebay but they are not selling.
Be careful buying any in mint condition. Most are counterfeit.
Civil war memorabilia is one of the most counterfeited items out there.
