The British East India Company established control of the island in 1796, declaring it a crown colony in 1802, although the island would not be officially connected with British India. The fall of the kingdom of Kandy in 1815 unified the island under British rule.
As of 6-2-11, with the exception of 1815, the US has produced One Cent (or pennies) coins from 1793 to date. It's the oldest, longest running US coin.
There were no British Halfcrown coins minted from 1752 to 1815 inclusive.
The initial 5 cent coins minted by the US mint were the Shield 5 cent coins - and they were initially minted in the year 1866. Prior to that, the Draped Bust Half Dime, Capped Bust Half Dime, and the Seated Liberty Half Dime were minted. However, there were NO 5 cent coins minted in the year of 1815.
1815 is the only year U.S. one cent coins (pennies) were not made.

If I understand the question. The One Cent coins (penny's) are the longest issued denomination of U.S. coins. None were issued in 1815. Cents have been made at the Philadelphia Mint from 1793 to 2014. We have had penny's for 220 years.
It is 1815, exactly as in the question.
