It depends upon the condition and exactly when the coin was struck. There were only 12 original Confederate one cent coins struck. One of these was sold at auction in 2009 for over $130,000. In 1874 a few more were re-struck from the original dies. These vary in value from $10,000 to $70,000 depending on condition and metal type.

When the re-strikes were made the dies broke after the 55th copper coin was struck. In 1961 Robert Bashlow, a New York entrepreneur took the rusted and broken dies and had copies made by the transfer process. These pieces have irregular surfaces, and are quite unlike the 1874 restrikes. Several thousand of these Bashlow re-strikes were made and these vary in value from $75 - $400.

Many thousand of Confederate one cent replica coins have been manufactured and vary in value from 1 cent to a few dollars.

August 13, 2009 The Confederate Cent was minted in 1861 and was made of a copper-nickel alloy. Some restrikes exist and many counterfeits but there are only 16 original Cents. These original cents are valued at about $150,000 each.
