August 5, 2009 The 1864 Seated Liberty Dime was produced at 2 US Mints: Philadelphia, which is shown in this list as 1864-P, and San Francisco which is shown in this list as 1864-S. To determine which coin you have it is necessary to locate the mint mark. On this coin it is found on the reverse [tails] side of the coin between the bottom of the wreath and the rim of the coin. A small letter "S" is for San Francisco. If there is no letter, the coin was minted at Philadelphia. The circulated and uncirculated values for these coins are shown in the following list. Circulated Grades..................1864-P........1864-S G4...........................................$240.............$45 F12.........................................$500..............$200 VF30.......................................$625..............$550 EF40.......................................$1000............$750 Uncirculated GradesMS60......................................$2100.............$1750 MS63......................................$2500..............$2800 MS64......................................$3300..............$4250 MS65......................................$4400..............$10,000 MS66......................................$6000..............$17,000
