More information:A quick check of your pocket change will show that all US Coins carry the motto "E Pluribus Unum" so it's not something that helps to ID a particular coin.

A 1944 dime is sometimes called a Liberty Head dime but is normally referred to by its nickname of "Mercury head" because the winged cap on Miss Liberty's head looks much like the helmet worn by the Greek god Mercury.
