Head gasket leaking?
Worn valve, bent valve, damaged piston and/or rings, head gasket failure.
your best option is to put car in garage.you will need special tools.also get cam belt changed while its in.hope this helps.steve
One of my customers just paid £800 for the headgasket on his scenic..... inc cambelt, oil, filter, head skim, gaskets etc etc ... and it was not done properly! I have just charged him £400 for the same job done correctly this time. Hope that helps :)
There are many factors to be considered in this - what caused the original gasket to fail? Was there head warpage? Overheating? has the head gone "porous"? Was the head skimmed (if needed) or was a thicker replacement gasket used? More info required.
Perhaps cracked block?
You can change the head gasket by removing the valve cover. Remove the gasket and clean the gasket surface. Put the new head gasket on the cleaned surface.
A compression test will verify if the head gasket if blown or not, the majority of the time.
could someone give me a rough idea on how much it will cost to replace a head gasket on a renault grand espace 2.2 dci, thats cost and fitting? thanks
What you have to do is Learn how to spell Renault Megane Scenic and then ram a Male sheep's head the exhaust pipe and put a Canary in the engine. Afterwards, you need to get the biggest balloon in the world and shove it in your glovebox and you're sorted.
About £800
anything from £300- £500
