That depends on the type and severity of the error. It's hard to value these because they are all different. The best thing to do is to take it to a coin collector and see what they say.

It happens when the blank on which a coin is struck doesn't seat squarely in the press. Cents are struck at extremely high speed so this error happens more often than you might think. It would probably retail for a couple of dollars depending on how much of the image is visible.
