I am a smoker living in Virginia I pay around 3.50 (avg) for name brands (Marlboro's, Camels, etc.). The price may be higher or lower depending on local, city, and/or county taxes as well as the brand. Low end brands sell for as low as 99cents a pack. Super high end brands/imports such as Dunhill sell upwards to 4-5 dollars a pack.
well carton of cigerets cost almost 40 dollars at were i live so it has to cost at least 50- 60 somwhere in between their
Since the previous response doesn't specify where the individual lives we must assume the poster lives in an area of lesser economic wealth than Virginia. When you take into consideration that Virginia is one of the largest exporters of tobacco, and as such it would have one of the countries lowest prices on cigarettes. As someone who actually lives in Richmond Virginia I can assure you cigarettes do NOT cost $50. Depending on the brand and retailer average price as of 2010 is around $36.00...which is still a sad price to pay. Before I quit smoking in 2004 I last bought a carton of Camel lights at Sheetz for $22.00. I'm glad I quit before the ridiculous tax hikes of 2006, and 2008.
It varies depending on the brand. Silver Eagles, which are bottom of the line cigarettes cost 2.50 with tax in Northern Virginia. Camels, Newports, and Marlboros cost around 4.00-4.40.
Well i smoke Newports and they are $6.14 a pack...smh t00000 much!
Approximately $5.94 with tax at a local "711"

On average, smoking one pack of cigarettes a day can take about 5-7 minutes off your life expectancy. Over a longer period, this can significantly reduce your overall life expectancy. Quitting smoking can help reverse some of these negative effects and improve your health.
