This depends entirely on what is being measured, as 1 fluid ounce of flour will weight much less than 1 fluid ounce of milk.

This is how it works; there are 8fl.oz. in one cup, and then there are 2 cups in one pint, then 2 pints in a quart, and finally 4 quarts in a gallon.
