While the USMC basic training lasts 12 weeks; just to nominate for SAS selection, candidates need to have passed the 14 week basic training for the British Army. SAS candidates must undertake a selection process of 19 weeks that tests their teamwork and fieldcraft knowledge. Therefore, in terms of training and skill, SAS is much better equipped than the USMC.
