The Ford Festiva ECU valve can be found on the firewall in the engine compartment. The valve will be on the drivers side of the engine compartment.

ECU = Engine Control Unit
It is located inside the engine block itself and is sends a signal to the ECU. The ECU then switches the fan on.
early xr2i's with external EDIS can swap ecus with no problem later spec xr2i's have internal EDIS and external pats, you cant swap an early ecu with a later ecu, you cant swap a pats ecu with a non pats ecu (pats is the Ford Passive Anti Theft System)
either its connected directly to the fan,,easy to find,,,,or its ecu controled,,non ajustable

it depends on the model, but generally the ECU is usually located behind the battery. its a kind of grey/silver metal box with a bit electrical plug going to it its in the pasenger side footwell
The 2002 Ford Escort ZX2 does have an ECU. There should be no need to alter this part, as this is the main computer unit for the vehicle.
