Apple has discontinued the 3rd generation iPod Touch. The newest model is a 5th generation.
If you still want to buy an old model, you can still an unused one from vendors such as Amazon.com. Amazon.com has an unused 8GB model for $179.99. The 32GB model is $230.99. You could also buy a used one.
If you do not want to get the latest model and are simply looking for an older model because the price is lower, I would suggest getting a 4th generation model. You can get the 16GB model for $188.25, which has the advantages of newer firmware, a built in mic and camera, and twice as much memory as the 8GB 3rd generation model for less than $10 extra.
