Your BMW recommends synthetic oil, so anything better than $60 is a great deal. Anything more than $90 is a rip-off, unless it comes w/a free detailing or other service. Also, ASK BEFORE YOUR VEHICLE IS SERVICED: Most shops do NOT have the tool to reset the Change Oil light on most BMWs. If the shop cannot reset this for you, you will most likely have to go to the dealership for this. Most shops will charge $90 or more to reset it. They do this in order to make you come to them in the first place. However, you can buy the tool to reset it yourself (and it's very easy) for $149 or less.
When you are going to maintain a BMW X3 you are going to want to change the oil faithfully. You are going to want to do it every 3,000 miles or 3 months which ever comes first.
I feel like I keep repeating the same thing over and over so i will try again. How do you reset the oil change indicator on a 2005 BMW X3. Thanks Rod53
