Hamilton Beach Slow Cookers range from $35.00-$70.00 depending on the store it is bought. Staples sells them for around $35.00 and Target sells them for around $68.00. It depends on the quality of the cooker.
The amount of water you put in a slow cooker depends on the recipe you are following. It is typically recommended to fill the slow cooker about two-thirds full with liquid, such as water or broth, to ensure that the ingredients cook properly and do not dry out.
Yes, a slow cooker will cook meat at 200-300 degrees F. Much slower than most other means thus the name slow cooker. Anyways, bacteria which spoils meats cannot survive above 165 degrees F which a slow cooker will more than adequately do.
Yes, but it might not be as tender as cooking it on low for a longer period of time. Just be sure to keep enough water/broth in the slow cooker to make sure your roast doesn't dry out too much.
Look at the nameplate information that MUST be attached to your cooker. It will express the rated power of the device in watts. Divide this by the rated voltage (also shown) to determine the current drawn.
No I think not. A slow cooker should get hot enough to burn off (evaporate) the alcohol, especially if you cook on high since this is over the boiling point of alcohol. But the problem I see is the lid of the slow cooker is designed to catch the evaporating liquid and return it to the food. This is why the food does not dry out when you cook it for eight hours. Thus in the end, I think much of the evaporated alcohol will condense on the lid and then would be returned to the food. Net loose of alcohol, logically would seem not much. Be careful.
The average cost of a Tiger rice cooker is anywhere between $80 to $200. The price of the cooker depends on how much rice the rice cooker is able to cook.
it is not necessary to boil the ribs but by doing so the ribs won't take as long to cook and they will retain more of their moisture.
You CAN cook frozen meats in a slow cooker/crock pot, however, it will take MUCH longer than the original recipe/thawed meat. Just be sure you account for the added time in cooking.
A pressure cooker varies in price. A person can buy an expensive pressure cooker or a cheaper pressure cooker. They cost around forty dollars to one hundred thirty dollars.
I am in love with my slow cooker. It makes things so much easier for me. I can put everything in quickly and let is simmer for hours while I'm gone, and not have to worry.

I found a model 28 at a thrift store for $5. It didn't include the bowls, however.
