If you buy a used battery from an auto parts dealer you can get a replacement for 350 to 400. This battery has not yet been reconditioned so in terms of a reconditioned batter you are probably talking about 700-800 dollars. Plus installation. Apparently this is not a hard do it yourself project so if you are handy then it might only cost you 800 dollars plus labor. Also... there are oppotunities to use higher density batteries from the current Honda Civic Hybrid or the new Honda Ingith hybrid. If you try to retrofit these batteries you may get improved performance with lkess battery weight. It will probably be a little more difficult to drop in....
