This coin is worth a lot of money because in the early years such as 1800s to early 1900s the coins press were made by hand so there were mistakes often. But since its a early date there is less FEWER mistakes so its a misprint MIS-STRIKE giving it value. Get it checked out by a local coin shop
CorrectionsThis is a common error called a filled die, not a mis-strike(*). It happens when grease or crud gets into the little recesses in a die that form the letters and numbers when a coin is struck. It's more common on smaller coins such as cents and dimes but can happen to any denomination, especially in view of the extremely high speed used by modern presses.(*) FWIW, the term describing how a coin is made is STRUCK or MINTED. "Printing" is used for things involving paper and ink, like dollar bills.

For modern coins it really depends on how far off center it is. If it's slightly off center with none of the design missing the value may not be much. But if 20% to 60% of the design is missing value could be around $10.00 the best thing to do is show it to a couple of dealers or take it to a coin show
