The average yield per acre of winter wheat is 82.0 (2.46 tons, 4920 lbs) bushels, while spring wheat is 78 (2.34 tons, 4680 lbs) bushels per acre.
Climate is the primary reason. Much of Canada is north of the primary temperate corn-producing area. Wheat is more cold-tolerant than corn and has a shorter growing season as well. Corn production in Canada tends to be limited to short-season varieties which typically don't yield as much.
One problem is how much land we have that we can grow food on. Only 1/32 of our land we can grow food on. There for our food amount is rappidly decreasing. Since, we can't grow food most places we won't have enough food if our population keeps increasing. Also, the amount of land people are able to live on is only 1/8. We already are living on most of that land. If our population keeps increasing we will practically be living on each other's feet!
Please look at the date again. 1958 was the last year for Wheat Penny's.

Yep. Yep it did.
Though wheat does not require nearly as much water as rice does to grow, it does require a significant amount of water to keep the soil relatively moist in order for it to grow. A field of wheat does take a lot of water to grow. Just how much water depends on how big the field is.
You have to craft a hoe, and then you click, (or in my case, tap) on some grass, and repeat that until you have as much wheat seeds as you want. Then, go someplace here you want to plant your wheat, hoe it, and click (or tap) there. Then wait a while, and wheat will grow! P.S. It will grow faster with water nearby.
Wheat is grown all around the world, especially in Europe, USA, Australia, Russia and China

Prairies are well suited to large scale agriculture. Enormous quantities of grain are grown on prairies. It would be much harder to grow grain on hilly or mountainous or swampy land. Prairies are the easiest.
