a lawyer make 13,000 a monthly and 160,000 every six months depending on how good you are.
they make alot of money. they usually charge $$$ according to what kind of crime you were charged with. example: if you are charged with a felony...they lawyer might charge between 3 to 4 thousand dollars upfront and they will also charge between 100-200 dollars per hour if they go with you to court or talk with you on the phone or meet with you in person.
For some general sense, here is some data from the U.S. Department of Labor:
In 2002, the median annual earnings of all lawyers was $90,290. The middle half of the occupation earned between $61,060 and $136,810. The lowest paid 10 percent earned less than $44,490; at least 10 percent earned more than $145,600. Median annual earnings in the industries employing the largest numbers of lawyers in 2002 are given in the following tabulation:
Median salaries of lawyers 6 months after graduation from law school in 2001 varied by type of work, as indicated here:
All graduates: $60,000
Private practice: $90,000
Business/industry: $60,000
Judicial clerkship and government: $40,300
Academe: $40,000
Salaries of experienced attorneys vary widely according to the type, size, and location of their employer. Lawyers who own their own practices usually earn less than do those who are partners in law firms. Lawyers starting their own practice may need to work part time in other occupations to supplement their income until their practice is well established.
Most salaried lawyers are provided health and life insurance, and contributions are made on their behalf to retirement plans. Lawyers who practice independently are covered only if they arrange and pay for such benefits themselves.

It depends. If you're first starting out as a lawyer than your pay may vary considerably from the bottom of the pay scale. Assuming you're working for a fairly good sized firm then you will probably start at or around $70,000 a year salary (which means you will be working around 55 billable hours which means the 55 hours you MUST work must be billable to the client thereby allowing your boss to pay you a portion of what you have earned and the rest goes to the law firm and yes it's a legal pyramid scheme.) If you ever make it to the Senior Partner (this is where you could have your last name as part of the law firms name) then you would be then making around $150,000 a year or more depending on the size of the law firm/legal pyramid scheme or model. Your earnings could be significantly higher once you reach the top of the firm depending on how large the firm is and how much business you bring into the firm. Actually lawyers can potentially make much more than is stated here. If you go to a top school (like Harvard, Yale, Penn etc) and are near the top of your class you are likely to get a job at one of the countries better firms. Lawyers here usually start at around $160k per year and the partners often make $2m+ (in 2008 New York firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz had profits per partner of $4.945m, the highest in the US).
