I show my own dog. A lot depends on how far the show are from you. The entry fee is usually around $25-30 around here in the Oklahoma Texas area. You will have to add in the gas and if you are paying someone else to handle your dog. It is a bit scary at first, but once we won our first 5 point major, our second one following 5 days later, we decided not to hire a professional handler. It is more fun to us to do it ourselves as a family. I would personally have a hard time spending $5000 on showing one dog. But depending on what your drive and gas prices are, it could get real expensive real fast.
Not very much, I've been told about 10$ an hour. Though if you work hard when YOU train in agility and prove to be one of the best, people start to notice you, they want to study under you, and they come to train with you, and that equals more money.
The owner is given the money if it earns a place in the competition, not the dog. So the dog makes none.

Most agility competitions don't pay money; dogs (and their people) earn ribbons and titles and glory.

Between $800 and $1200 for a Show quality dog. Depends on the pedigree. It could cost more. You might be able to get a companion dog cheaper.
take the animal to a vet and worry about the cost later
