It all depends on how good he/she is. A good one can charge quite a bit per hour and see 8 to 12 customers per day, depending on how much time he/she wants to put in. $100.00 to $200.00 per hour isn't heard of if his/her customers believe he/she is worth it. Recognize that psychologists who work for themselves are subject to market forces and can only charge what people are willing to pay. If people don't think you're worth it and you end up being counselor to the homeless, you won't get much. If you end up being psychotherapist to the stars you can retire with one customer. On the other hand, if he/she ends up being a counselor at a prison or youth correctional facility, he/she will just get state pay scale which won't be that great to start.

A psychologist with a private practice would commonly charge anywhere between 100-200$ an hour. Sometimes less than those figures, sometimes more. Just depends on your location, reputation and etc.

An average therapy session is by standard usually 50 minutes long. Many psychologists though give the full hour to their clients. Most Psychologists (ones who are in the field of therapy & have a doctorates) make around $150/session. Often in private practice they work their own schedules. So the amount of patients they see per day, and how many days a week they work varies.
