Example: if you are an independent therapist and charge $50 an hour, you will earn more than if you work in a spa where they charge $80 an hour for your services but you are paid by the owner of the spa only 50% of the cost of the session ($40). 4) EDUCATION: If you have a good education in massage, you will find you are able to gain a greater income than someone with less education. 5) TYPE OF MASSAGE: Certain massage styles and techniques (craniosacral, myofascial release, strutural integration, etc.) will bring more income based upon the need by the clients. 6) EXPERIENCE: The therapist who have a lot of experience in their field of massage are those who can demand more money per session.
