This varies from person to person. If you live in a region that generates electrical power from air, sun, or even hydroelectric plants then chances are you are at a drastically lower fossil fuel dependency. Furthermore, everyone's power consumption is different. Do you drive to school or do you commute? are you highly plugged in or do you stick to books? Do you use energy efficient appliances or does your fridge use more power than your neighbors entire house? These factors also affect how much power you use and the amount of fossil fuel you will need.

To be honest, this seems like a textbook question and you will simply have to do research for YOUR OWN REGION in order to get a "correct" answer.

  • The cost to the planet.
  • The cost of the carbon pollution on the environment and its contribution to global warming is huge.
  • The cost of all the other emissions and spills to the environment.
  • The cost in money so fossil fuel companies can provide a profit to their directors and investors.

About 9,730,000 tons in a year, I'm the owner of a coal plant, and that's how much we burn alone, so divide that by 12, then about 30, and that's about how much we burn in a day.
