Because tree density varies so much in every forest in America, it is difficult to estimate the number of trees cut down each year.
Worldwide it is estimated that nearly 4 billion trees are cut down each year for paper.
American forests are already a fraction of what they used to be. It is estimated that 90 percent of the virgin old-growth forests have been cleared away in the past 400 years.
since 1932 the canadian lumber corperations have been cutting down forests now only 22% of north americas trees live.
North America is land and is up north, but Antarctica is ice and is down south. Millions live in North America, but not very many live in Antarctica. North America's summer is Antarctica's winter, and North America's winter is Antarctica's summer! Also, North America is much bigger than Antarctica.
Latin America is a huge expanse of land including Mexico in North America down to Tierra del Fuego in South America. It has many ecosystems, ranging from arid deserts such as the Sonoran and Atacama deserts in Mexico and Chile, to the polar wastelands found in the Chilean and Argentinean Patagonia, to the tropical rain forests in the Amazonian basin to the temperate grasslands of the Argentinean Pampas.
i read in a book and it said in 2035 all the forests will be cut down
The Continental Divide runs from the top of North America down to the southern most tip of South America. The Continental Divide splits North America and runs down the western side of South America.
they burned down many native towns
There certainly are. The largest forests are in the north and in Scotland. The most famous is Sherwood Forest which has been largely chopped down. The New Forest in the south was the private hunting forest of the King.
about 50%
The Moose habitat is the taiga and coniferous forests of North America and Scandinavia. Sometimes Moose are found further down south in America and there is a reintroduction program being considered in Great Britain as moose were once native there.
Sweden is neutral, and America goes to war. Sweden doesn't chop down as many forests as we do.
forests are being cut down
The rain forests of Africa, Asia, and South America are major carbon sinks, i.e. absorb large quantities of carbon dioxide and release oxygen back into the atmosphere. Because of their fast growth, rain forests (especially tropical rain forests) absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen faster than temperate and boreal forests. The Amazon rain forest alone accounts for 20% of the oxygen production for the earth. Over time, humans have cut down or damaged at least 75% of the world's forests, and that destruction has accounted for much of the excess carbon that is warming the planet. At this time tropical forests are undergoing much faster deforestation than the forests in North America and Europe - and when a tropical forest is cleared, it takes far, far longer to recover than forests in temperate climes. Currently the carbon released into the atmosphere in the process of deforestation of tropical rain forests now accounts for roughly 17% of all global emissions contributing to climate change. This is more carbon dioxide than all cars, trucks, planes, trains and ships collectively emit into the atmosphere. The forests of Europe, North America have been significantly reduced by logging and Australia doesn't have enough forests to make much of contribution so we are quite dependent on the tropical rain forests. Also - 25% of Western pharmaceuticals are derived from ingredients found in tropical rain forests and it is reported that 121 prescription drugs sold worldwide are derived from plants from the tropical rain forests.

They fly from North America down to South America..:)
The cougar can be found from North America down to the tip of South America.
missippi - something
the farmers are wanting to cut down forests just for their use.
Culturally, to Latin America. Geographically, to North America (the subcontinent spanning from Canada down to Panama).
