It is exactly 4 quarts It is exactly 4 quarts
same as the engine oil
Yes, it is. However, there is separate gear oil in the final drive of the Goldwing, as it is shaft driven.
My owners manual for my 1984 Honda GoldWing says to use SAE 10W-40 Oil.
Iraqi the front of the engine at the bottom
First, is this a 1987 1200, last year for 1200's, or is this a 1500, 1988 ? 1987, 1200, fork oil, If you just change the oil without doing a full teardown then 323 cc ( 10.9 oz ) If the fork's have been taken apart for new seals then, 345 cc ( 11.7 oz ) Ask your local dealer for the right oil.
The filler cap on the 1200's is on the right side, ( foot brake side ) right near the dip stick.
Sorry, there is no real transmission oil. The clutch, transmission, stator, all operate with the engine oil. Therefor, it is best to use the oil from the dealer, and change it and the filter at 5,000 kms, or 3,000 miles.
Oil drain plug is located at the back of the engine, right side, ( foot brake side ) towards the bottom of the engine.
1200 engine, oil cap. is 3.2 liters or 3.4 U.S. qt's.
my manual says to use 10w40 wt
Yes. 10w40 is good. If you don't know how to check the oil leave me a msg. on my board.
