The cost of a used Subaru Forester will vary greatly from vehicle to vehicle. This is due to the different miles, options and conditions of each individual car.
Ask the mechanic who is willing to do the job. No other answer has any meaning.
I was told at a dealership it would cost me about $3000 (Subaru Forester 2000). Cannot be more exact because when I started pushing for more precise explanation it happened to become a defective wire in the harness, not the transmisssion...
2.8 hrs. i just had mine replaced. I cost me $357.00
The answer is always the same. The only estimate that has any value whatsoever is from the person willing to perform the job. Start with your Subaru dealer. --Ken
Go to your local auto parts store and get the Haynes manual (or similar) for your Forester. Cost about $20. Read and see if you feel that your skills are up to doing the procedure. Otherwise, leave this to a professional. --Ken
Folks keep asking how much things cost. My answer always is that you have to ask the person who is willing to sell the part or service to you. An answer in this forum would be meaningless. --Ken
The only answer that matters comes from the person willing to do the job. Any quote by anyone else is meaningless. --Ken
how much does a subaru cost?
If you mean the filler neck on the radiator, that requires replacement of the plastic tank on the radiator. If you have a mechanic pull the rediator and a radiator shop replace the tank with a new one and then put the repaired radiator into the car, it should cost about $225.00. That's $25 for the tank and gasket and the rest is labor. If you were to remove the radiator and take it to a radiator shop yourself and they fixed it and gave it back to you, expecting you to put it back in the car, that should cost about $80.00. Prices are approximate and these are what a shop in Florida charges.
a Subaru costs around 15'000 pounds
This may sound like a smart-alec answer, but I am serious. Take your Forester to the auto parts store. Tell them you want the blades replaced. They will do it for you for the cost of the blades. No extra charge, at least in my experience. I changed my own timing belt and water pump, but the wipers I leave to the experts! -Ken
