The estimate is between 350 and 400 million worldwide.
There is no one in ABBA called Frida Falstad.
As a group, Abba started working together in 1970 but did not release their first recordings until 1972. (They didn't adopt the name "Abba" until 1973). Their last public performance together was in December, 1982.)
ABBA's music is loved by millions of people all over the world.
The group made quality music which has been able to stand the test of time. They are in demand almost as much now as they were in the 1970's.
In total ABBA have sold more than 360 million records, their single "Fernando" was their best selling 21 million, where as their compilation album "ABBA: GOLD" sold over 23 million copies. So along with their other albums, Super Trouper, Arrival, ABBA, The Visitors etc it brings it to 360 million.
There WAS a Christian music group in the early to mid-eighties by that name. Their music was very much in the style of ABBA. Their songs are now available on iTunes.
I don't think it is just Bjorn. The other members are unwilling to reunite also, despite the offer of millions of dollars. As much as we would love to see them together again it seems the group has no desire to visit that place again in their lives. They have all moved on to other things. But ABBA has left it's millions of fans a decade of songs so we say thank you for the music.
That's a hard one to answer. I do believe that the Beatles are ahead of ABBA in world-wide sales but not by much.
They say no. They were offered a ridiculous amount of money for a one time reunion tour and the answer was still no. As much as the world enjoys the music of ABBA, the artists have moved on with their lives. They are no longer the same people they were in the 1970's. As much as their fans would love to see them perform as a group once again, as people, they deserve the right to grow and move on. I wish each member much happiness and hope they are content in their present lives.
There will always be some people that don't like a particular song. But ABBA had much luck with Dancing Queen, Waterloo, Mama Mia, and SOS.
All four members of ABBA are rich enough to turn down $1 billion for a one-time 27 city world tour. Once you have that much money it looses importance.
While they did turn Mama Mia the musical into a feature film, Mama Mia isn't a character as much as an exclamation. However, Meryl Streep did play the mother of the bride and was a main character.
