As a group, ABBA started working together in 1970 but did not release their first recordings until 1972. (They didn't adopt the name "Abba" until 1973). Their last public performance together was in December, 1982.)
That really depends on how you measure it. Writer-composers Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson started working together as early as 1966. They both met their future wives, Agnetha Faltskog (Bjorn) and Anni-Frid Lyngstad (Benny) in 1969. Both Agnetha and Frida were accomplished vocalists in their own right and they started performing back-up on Bjorn & Benny records. In April of 1970 they performed together in public for the first time and toured together starting later that year. By then it was obvious that the women's voices were stronger and they began to take the lead on most songs. The band released their first single on June 1, 1972, but still under their own names. That was a bit unwieldy so they adopted the name ABBA starting later that summer. Their last recording session together was in August of 1982, and their last official public appearance (for British TV) was recorded on November 6, 1982. (However they did reunite for a Swedish TV special in 1986 and are known to have performed together at private functions a couple of times since then.)
ABBA the group began in the early 1970's and was pretty much burned out by 1982. But that doesn't mean the members have not been busy. They all moved on to different things, all involved with music. We would love an ABBA reunion tour but if that never happens we still have the music, which 30 years later is even better than before. Thanks for the music ABBA!
Abba first performed together in 1970 and released their first single and album in 1972. They recorded their last tracks in 1982, although singles were released into 1983. Their last live performance together was in December, 1982.
They were active for 10 years. 1972-1982. But they did start trying to form the group starting in 1970.
Bjorn and Agnetha were married 11 years, while Benny and Frida were married only two years but were a couple much longer than that prior to marrying.
Since 1970. They broke up in 1983.
No possible way. The group known as ABBA has not been together since 1982 or 1983. It no longer exists.
ABBA ceased to exist as a group in 1982. There was never a decision to break up, they just took a break and never recorded together again.

The group recorded for the last time together in late 1982.
All four members of the group ABBA are well and doing fine. They are all still involved in music, just not together.

Abba hasn't played all together in many years. Recent interviews that I've seen indicate that the women in the group have zero interest in ever playing together again.
The estimate is between 350 and 400 million worldwide.
I don't think there was one.
