It cost me about $600 new in 1983. Still got it. Had it stored in my basement and just rode it yesterday after a 25 yr hiatus. Has solid rubber inner tubes (so I didn't get flats). Shimano gears. Still runs great albeit the brakes are somewhat squeaky. It has carbon steel frame, somewhat heavy but strong. I think the frame alone is worth about $400 at least.
Altogether, I think its very good but not as good as my roadace 404 that got stolen before I got this one. <sniff>
