The first thing to do is to get the approval of local utility companies, so their representatives will be able to tell you the exact location of underground pipes , electricity wires etc. to enable you to choose a safe digging point. Purchase the tools, materials and supplies necessary to build a split rail fence such as split rails and posts from a lumberyard or a local home improvement store. You will have to dig a hole about two feet deep using an auger and insert the fence post there. Then fill the hole up with dart and insert the rails into the post. Make adjustments if the rails are not straight and level. Repeat the process for other posts until the final split fence is completed.
