How much sugar should a 3 year old child consume daily?
I believe that a three year old should get her/his daily ration of sugar mainly from whole fruits rather than fruit juices. Stay away from cane or corn sugars; our bodies do not know the difference. An occasional cookie or piece of candy is not bad for a child, but daily doses of sugared cereals, candy, pie, cake, soft drinks (e.g. sodas), etc. are not an accepted diet for children. and carbonated drinks also leach the calcium from their bones.
