no you don't pay GA sales tax
One of my buddies bought a car in GA and he ended up paying for sales tax. I'm not sure if it applies for all.
Absolutely, YES.I bought a used car from MO and paid sales tax in MO.I had to show proof to the GA DMV that I paid taxes and also paid a small tax in GA for the purchase.Conversely, when I bought a used car from a GA seller (not a dealer), I paid no taxes at all.

Yes if you are registering the car in TN
Sales tax on a car in Georgia is based on the county you live. Does not matter what county you buy it in. If you live in another state and buy the car in GA some dealers will not collect the tax for your state. However when you register the car your state will collect the taxes owed.
Yes ...and FYI the tax rate is based on the county of your residence and not where the car is bought.

As of right now the sales tax in GA on an automobile is based on your county of residence. Whatever you pay for anything in your county will be the same rate of tax for a new car. Even if you buy your new car out of state, your sales tax will be paid to GA at your county of residence rate. So if you live in say Cherokee County and it cost you 6% tax to buy a new pair of shoes at your local shoe retailer, it will also cost you 6% tax to buy a new car, even if you by it in a different county that has a higher or lower rate of tax. The only exception to this is buying a vehicle that is titled to an individual (i.e. private sale).
