Best Answer

As much as it takes to get it clean. All feces should be removed, water and feeders should be cleaned and sanitized, bedding (if your bunny has bedding) should be replaced. I would say on average somewhere between 45 minutes and an hour.

Where do you buy a cheap rabbit hutch from?

If you are looking to spend under £50 on a Hutch you might be better buying materials and making one yourself. Another option would be to look for a 2nd hand hutch through craigslist, freecycle, local papers etc. Another option is to have the rabbit in the house rather than outside (they make Great Housepets) and then buy a rabbit cage which tend to be cheaper than wooden hutches, but not suitable for use outside the house. Or if you are in the North-East call 07758501991 for good quality rabbit hutches for under 50 pounds.

Should you get a rabbit hutch or a rabbit run?

Both.If you want to keep your rabbit outdoors, you need a hutch and run. You need a hutch that is rabbit-proofed to keep your rabbit safe when you're not there to watch. You need a run so that your rabbit can exercise and play and socialize with you every day.Consider keeping your rabbit indoors. It's widely recommended. It's much easier to keep your rabbit happy, healthy, and safe when she/he is indoors. If you keep it outdoors:The hutch needs to be secure from predators. Spend a lot of time making sure it's secure: many people have been (sadly) surprised at how wily predators can be. It should be secure from prowling humans as well. It needs to be roomy, too. It should include:a litter boxa water sourcea hay sourcea hiding area1comfy resting surfacesprotection from the elements2toys/diversions/play structuresenough room left over to stretch out, stand up on hind legs, hop a few times1 Rabbits have died of fright when a predator is stalking them outside their hutch. They need a place to go where they can't be seen, where they can feel secure. This could be a cardboard box, or something more elaborate.2 Rabbits need protection from wind, damp, heat (they need airflow and shade), extreme cold, extreme heat (bring them inside; provide air conditioning, fans, frozen tiles, frozen water bottles, etc.)The run should let the rabbit really run around. Stock it with play structures, herb garden, etc. Your rabbit needs at least four hours of exercise and socializing every day. You should also observe your rabbit daily and keep track of its behaviours (drinking, eating, peeing, pooping, energy, mobility; that way you'll know when something is wrong before it's too late).

Should your rabbit live outside in a hutch?

They can live in or outside. but rabbits should be able to spend a little time outside for exercise. In winter i bring mine in because it gets a bit cold outside but in summer time i leave them out with fresh grass and water:) hope this helps.

What is an alternative to keeping a rabbit in a cage Please bear in mind that I have a cat and a dog that both live inside. And the cat is pretty feral Thanks?

Rabbits can be litter-trained like a cat but if you let them run loose you need to watch that they don't chew electrical cords. It is best to keep them in a cage or hutch when you can't supervise them. ===Now that you have updated the question to say you have a dog and cat running free in the house, that is going to result in your rabbit turning into dog/cat food.=== Do not let the animals interact. There are cases where cats and dogs and rabbits that are raised together will tolerate each other but that is the exception rather than the rule. You can build a hutch for your rabbit and let it spend time outdoors in the hutch or you can let it run supervised in a room with the dog and cat locked out.

What are the bad things about having a pet bunny?

Nothing if you are educated about their needs. Have a good solid hutch and run. Have checked them out in the shop for health signs. ~Are prepared to spend years taking care of your rabbit. Will be prepared to buy two as they need companionship., Are prepared to insure your rabbit and take it to the vet when it needs to go.

What can you do when your rabbit is too wild?

Wild animals should not be kept as pets. Domestic animals sometimes turn "feral" or they become difficult to manage when they haven't been properly socialized and/or when they aren't being cared for properly. If your rabbit is like this, you will have to spend time socializing your rabbit, and will have to ensure your rabbit's habitat is suitable (it should be specially designed to help make your rabbit feel secure, and to provide entertainment for your rabbit). Bored, lonely, frightened, anxious, and insecure rabbits will become aggressive and/or timid. See the related questions below for more help.
