Florida is one of the "Life means Life" states. The odds of parole are slim, especially with the concurrent sentences, and multiple charges.
In Florida life means life: there is no early release program for those who are sentenced to life in prison. If the defendant was given 15 years in prison for each count the total time will depend on whether the sentences are to run concurrently or consecutively. If the latter is true that the defendant will have to serve 30 years in prison. But a life sentence trumps the 30 years unless the conviction is reversed on appeal. If the sentences are to run concurrently, then the total amount is 15 years. The 15 or 30 years could either be consecutive to the life term or concurrent.
