i think you should be more worried about the amount of cheese or processed meat you're putting on rather than the tomato paste. The tomato sauce is probably the healthiest thing on there. Also, I make homemade Pizza quite a lot and have a great recipe for pizza sauce, rather than just using tomato paste. Fry up one choppedonion and 3/4 cloves of chopped garlic. Then add 1 tablespoon of dried basil and one tablespoon of dried oregano. Fry for a little bit then add 1 carton/500ml of passata and 2 small tins of tomato puree. Then add salt and pepper and half a small tin of water (tin from tomato puree). Simmer for ten mins then blend smooth. Makes a big batch that you can divide up and freeze for future use.
There is over twice as much lycopene in ketchup than in tomato paste.
It is possible, but such a substitution is not always a great idea as tomato paste has a much more concentrated, stronger flavor and has less moisture. So the recipe with the replacement of tomato sauce will be more liquidy and have less of a tomato flavor to it.
Tomato plants love the sun. Give them as much sun as you can to keep them healthy.
Adding too much liquid, be it wine, water.
Tomato paste works!
That is a matter of personal taste, Tomato paste is condensed tomato sauce so its purpose in a sauce would be to thicken what you already have without spending the time to cook it down. I use one large can of tomato sauce and one small, one small can of stewed tomatoes ( use potato masher on them to reduce the big chunks) one can of tomato paste, one can of mushrooms ( I like them ) a package of schilling tomato sauce seasoning, and about 6 cut up cooked hot Italian sausage.
It is fairly nutritious and provides a reasonable balance of nutriments with the tomato, cheese, meat and crust. It has a pretty big calorie count, so you may get fat if you eat too much too often.
it is a pizza that was named after Queen Magherita who loved it very much. This is a type of pizza that doesn't use tomato sauce. It is generally made from a base of pizza dough overlaid with mozzarella (and sometimes several other cheeses), one or more herbs (such as basil) and about half the time tomato slices on top.
Straight? Hell yes. Diluted with 3 quarts of tomato paste? Not so much.
yes you can but you can only use a little bite not to much or it will taste funny
2 oz 6 + 2 = 8 ..... but it will be a very thick sauce.
Tomatoes are grown in the Baja region of Mexico and Sinaloa. Sinaloa is where much of the tomato paste production is located.
