First, let me state that you should have a repair manual handy while working on these engines. While most procedures are common, some require more attention to detail.
Cylinder head bolt torque is one of those jobs.
(Torque in sequence from center)Ft-lbs
step one ... 22
step two ... 43
Loosen all bolts (in reverse of tightening sequence)
step four ...22
step five ... tighten lower intake manifold (se below)
step six ...40 to 47
Lower intake manifold bolts and nuts
step one (all) ... 26 to 43 in-lbs
step two
nuts...17 to 20
bolts ..177 to 168 in-lbs
step three ...repeat step two
I had to look up these specs in my repair manual as this procedure is very sequence specific.
