Yes, Tuna contains mercury. So much of these river fishes have mercury that scientists and doctors recommend having no tuna and albacore. You can search on Google 'tuna calculator'. You enter your weight and it tells you how much is the max amount of Tuna you can consume in a week without developing diabetes, high blood pressure, or any other diseases. Doctors say that human beings are consuming so much of these fish thinking it is all right to have a bit once in a while, that a type of mercury cancer will develop. Mercury can damage your sight, smell, touch and taste. If I were you, I recommend no tuna consumption.
A half a cup of tuna is about two to three cans of tuna, without the liquid. It can also be about one large can of tuna.
Tuna fish is OK for dogs - it is a good source of protein and unsaturated fatty acids that help support muscle development. However, tuna are predatory fish at the top of the food chain, so there is a risk of mercury poisoning if you feed too much tuna fish to your dog. There is also a slight risk that your dog may have a food allergy to tuna fish - if your dog develops unexplainable skin rashes, you should ask your veterinarian about this.

The weight of a tuna is largely dependant on how much the tuna has eaten in their life. The answer to this question is also factored by which Tuna breed, it is. So, the average weight of different types of tuna is: Bullet Tuna = 1.8kg Atlantic Bluefin Tuna = 648.5 kg That's all the tuna I know of, I hope this helps.
because the water is much cheaper than the oil to produce and tuna in water is way more common so there is a higher demand which lowers prices unlike tuna in oil ( I prefer tuna in oil)
