If you have 5-10 miles of wire then you would have 7500 V. This is suitable for farms up to 5-25 acres.
The output of an electric fencer is a high voltage pulse of DC voltage.
Go around it. Low voltage fences may be damaged by crossing, and high voltage can be deadly.
If you make sure it is ona low voltage, an electric fence can be a safe and effective way to keep the animals you want in your fence in and those you want out on the other side of the fence without harm. When kept on a low voltage it would give off enough of a shock to startle and scare of wildlife without causing damage.
If the voltage is higher then that of a commercial electric fence I would not recommend it.
600 VOLTS
A short answer:An electric fence is connected to the ground only when an animal or a human being touches it to complete a circuit from the fence to the ground.A longer answer:The wires of an electric fence are not connected directly to the ground because, if that was done, the fence would be shorted out and would not be able to do its job! This is how an electric fence is actually hooked-up: the electric fence is connected to one side of a specially designed high voltage source and the return side of that source is connected to the ground. Then, whenever the skin of any animal - or human - touches the wire whilst standing on the ground in bare feet, they get a high-voltage (10,000) DC electric pulse from the electric fence. The shocks are designed to be only enough to make them jump back from the fence, not to "electrocute" them so badly as to cause serious injury or death.
I've seen it done with a car battery, but length determines voltage requirements.
Sure but you need to train it with the fence. Check the owner's manual. You need to show your dog where it is allowed to go and adjust voltage if not high enough.
enough
dont think that is possible- tehe- however, you may just have to electric fence it off- at a high voltage
Depending upon the type of electric fence used, some may be dangerous to animals. The voltage on electric fences can be adjusted based up the size of animal you are trying to keep in or out. In order to ensure safe use, refer to the user manual for voltage selection.
As much as you want....... maths would be your answer :-)
