The difference between a front load washer and regular washer is that a front load washer has a door in front were clothes are loaded and that is also where washer settings are located. The regular washer is usually a top load where clothes are loaded on top of the washer.
The use of water depends on which of the two types of machines you have, between a top-loading and a front-loading. A top-loading washer uses around 40 gallons of water from start to finish, whereas a front-loading machine uses about half as much..
You need to use a laundry detergent specifically for front loading washers, otherwise you will end up with a suds overflow. If you only have regular detergent, then start out with only about 2 or 3 tablespoons, then adjust with each load as needed. But I strongly recommend using one made for a front loader, which will tell you on the container how much to use, depending on the brand, the size of the load, etc.
You can, but you would have to use it very sparingly - perhaps 1/2 of normal amount. HE washers work best with HE detergent - conventional detergent sudses much too heavily.
It uses about 60- 100 L of water on a heavy load. SO THERE FOR IT IS CHEAP TO DO HAVEY LOADS
Not up to your neck in water, but it would cause a little wetness.

Front load washers are being made now as an energy efficient alternative to the old style top load washer. Because they do not have the traditional barrel with the long pipe in the center, they can support larger loads using less water and energy.

20 gallons
Front-load simply means that the washing machine door is on the front face of the washing machine, rather than a lid that lifts from the of the washing machine (top load). One would 'load' the clothes into the washer through the open front, hence the name front-load.
Too many variables to give a good answer. By hand? How much laundry? Front load machine? etc.
If u get a top load washer without the agitator like a whirlpool cabrio high efficiency the only difference is about $400. If you are talking about the traditional washer the washer fills up and the agitator cleans the clothes. With the front load and top load HE models they use way less water and friction cleans the clothes.
Yes. They have and LG front-load washer, although I needed to type in best buy after front-load washer to be able to find out whether or not Best Buy sold them.
The GE WSXH208H 3.1 CuFt Front Loading Washer uses 10 gallons of water for a small load and 15 gallons of water for a large load which can save up to 23 gallons of water per load as compared to a typical washing machine.
