That is a good question. Depending on how long the therapist has been qualified, whether you are in a clinic, hotel, your own home or the therapists home, a posh neighbourhood or a not so posh neighbourhood... it will vary a lot... A newly qualified person may only charge £10-£15 for an hour. A more established therapist may charge £40 - £60. A high level establishment or a well-known teacher may charge £80-£100 (or the equivalent in $ of course)

Without the existence of Qi (which is what I think you are getting it) a Shiatsu would be more like a sports massage, physiotherapy massage or deep tissue massage, as they are 'similar' in technique... but only loosely.
Shiatsu is a Japanese form of acupressure.
The scientific name for shiatsu massage therapy is "shiatsu therapy" or "shiatsu massage." It is a form of Japanese bodywork based on the theoretical framework of traditional Chinese medicine.
That is a good question that I am not able to fully answer myself. There are several that I know of: Zen Shiatsu - developed and popularised by Shizuti Masunaga (possibly the most popular form) Ohashiatsu - Pioneered by Ohashi Watsu - a water based shiastu Movement Shiatsu Shin So Shiatsu And there are obviously more I have studied Zen Shiatsu and don't know very much about the other forms, but I do believe that Zen is the main form that influenced the others...
