It would have to be custom built
Model of 1944 carbine is a Russian infantry rifle. It is a bolt-action repeater with a 5-shot magazine. It is chambered in 7.62x54R.
The Winchester 25-20 caliber was first chambered in the Winchester model 1892 rifle/carbine which was made from 1892.The last chambering that I have found was in the Winchester model 43 bolt action rifle that was produced from 1949-1957.I would surmise that this caliber was available from 1892-1957.
The term carbine means a short barreled rifle. Some are semi-automatic, some fully automatic, and some are bolt action, lever action, pump action, etc. The M1 Carbine from WW II WAS a semi-auto.

It depends on the particular model of the rifle, not the caliber it is in. What model and make is it?
Bolt action, single shot or semi-auto?
Depends entirely on who made it.
The "action" is determined by it's caliber. 70's come in both long and short action. For instance, if the rifle is chambered in 30'06 Springfield or 7-mm magnum which are rounds over 3 inches long, it's a long action. If it's chambered in .22 hornet or .30 carbine, which are relatively shorter rounds, it's a short action. Pull the bolt back and measure from the bolt face to the front of the breech, if it's over 3 1/4", it's a long action. If you're not sure, post again with the caliber and we can tell you positively.
I believe that bolt action rifle has a 5 round magazine and a 10 round magazine............................
