What is the avearage cost to fix a blow headgasket on a 98 lumina
$ 325 installed on your driveway.
Sounds like a blown headgasket or intake manifold gasket. Sounds like a blow intake gasket to me...It happened to My 86 Mustang and my 96 Lumina.
Transverse engine, so left is front to me. Intake manifold or headgasket are the first thoughts. With age of it, a softplug (freezeplug) may be rotted.
blown headgasket
To replace a blown head gasket on a 1998 Chevy Lumina, it would cost between $18 and $174. This depends on the brand part and any labor costs.
Blown headgasket.
Clean the Idle air control valve with carburettor cleaner. If it doesn't fix the issue replace the IAC.
5 to 7k at the dealer. You can replace it yourself with a used engine but I would recomend doing a time cert job on the block before installing it and that is a lot of work. Besides headgasket failures these engines are very reliable and can go forever.
Headgasket!
Use battery load tester and properly test battery. When battery fails, replace it.
The 2003 Chevrolet Lumina, sold in the Middle East and in South Africa is actually a rebadged Holden Commodore. As this car is not sold in the U.S. it would be very difficult to quote a price for any repairs. In the U.S. a it would cost around $350 to $500.
i believe it would not work out, i have 20's on my lumina and they just fit
