The typical term (or time-in-office) for the President of the United States of America is four years. The President can run for a second term, and if he/she (I say "he/she" as an example meaning "depending on who the President is") is elected, once the four years of that second term are up, he/she cannot run for President again as per regulations stating that President-elect can only serve two terms in office.

Every four years, starting with 1788. So, presidential elections are held in November during leap years, and the new president enters office on January 20 the following year.

Although, to be perfectly correct, we as citizens NEVER vote for President. We citizens vote for ELECTORS who represent the presidential candidate, and our electors cast their own votes in the Electoral College in December. If the electors decided to, they could vote for any natively-born American citizen over age 35 to become the new President, and it would be legal. However, there have only been 157 "faithless electors" since the ratification of the Constitution, and this has never affected the outcome of an election.

In the US, the president serves a term of 4 years. There is an election every 4 years. The president can stand for re-election, and can be elected to a second term, but no more than that.

The US President is elected for four years. That means that the parties have elections for that office every four years. It seems that the parties are always thinking about the next election.
