They breed every 4 weeks and they can have up to 4-123 babies. Put in lots of plants so the baby Mollies can hide from the other fish in the tank. Separate the baby mollies in a 2+ gallon tank and feed them crushed algae flake food 4 times a day.
If there is a male in the tank they will be permamently pregnant (Gravid). They have a gestation period of 8 weeks.
Mollys can breed with any other type of molly fish
Platys are Xiphophorus sp. Mollys are Poecilia sp. As you can see they are of entirely different species and so obviously they can not breed with one another.
