um, what a smart question..
once a year, hope this isnt a joke
every year
It means they want to celebrate it AFTER your actual birthday.
No. I've had to do that a million times because my birthday is in the summer.
Everybody´s birthday is on Tet, the lunar new year. The only time they celebrate their actual birthday is the first birthday. So you celbrate your baby´s first birthday with a huge party, after that you celebrate tet like everybody else. Still, the baby´s age doesn´t change on his first birthday, it still change at tet. Vietnamese that have contact with westerners often celebrate their actual birthday too. It´s a reason to party, after all. But to answer your question. If they celebrate their birthday the celebrate like all other people. Everything from beers with friends to a nice dinner at a restaurant. Often people buy a cake to the person. He/she won´t eat much from it because Vietnamese don´t eat much sweet deserts, so it can be in the fridge for weeks.
You have your birthday each year on the date that you were born. On that day, you become one year older. You can celebrate on that day, or a convenient day that is near your actual birthday.
The actual birthday of Saint Nicholas is unknown. We celebrate his birth into Heaven on December 6 each year.
Celebrate his 25th Birthday. Celebrate his 26th Birthday. Celebrate his 27th Birthday. Celebrate his 28th Birthday. Celebrate his 29th Birthday. Celebrate his 30th Birthday. Celebrate his 31st Birthday. Celebrate his 32ndBirthday. ...........and the list goes on... till 50 Rgds Devil's Advisor
