Ideally you shouldn't wash you hamster at all as it can give him a chill, however, If his coat has become sticky and it is absolutely necessary then once in a while will not hurt providing you towel dry him afterwards and make sure that he is supervised with the correct water temprature.

∙ 14y agoHamsters don't really need to be washed. Like all animals, they can take basic care for themselves. Occasionally, if one of our hamster's fur is looking a bit grimy, we'll gently clean her coat with a damp towel. All you really need to do is clean their cage about once a week. Other than that, you should be okay. Good luck =)
