There is no regularity with which a storm of a given name will strike a given area. The name Colin has been used for two Atlantic tropical storms. The first, in 2010, did not affect Florida. The second, in 2016, crossed northern Florida. The name Colin will come up for reuse every six years, the next time coming in 2022 unless it is retired. There is no telling where future storms of that name will go.
A tropical storm often happens in tropical areas, like the Gulf of Mexico, Florida, Nothern South America, etc. A tropical storm is similar to a hurricane, and often turns into one.
Hurricanes and storms have often been named after Saints, such as San Felipe. To get a tropical storm named after them, one would have to contact the Tropical Prediction Center in Miami, Florida, who are the organization who name storms.
Tropical soils are often poorly fertile. This is because heavy rainfall leaches out nutrients.
A tropical monsoon is basically a climate that is very wet for much of the year. This type of climate often produces tropical forests and is sometimes called a tropical wet climate.
Tropical storms are often, but not always, smaller than hurricanes. They are much bigger than tornadoes.

Hot, often rainy.
Florida has a subtropical to tropical climate. This provides plenty of warm moist air to fuel thunderstorms. The geography of the area contributes as well. Sea breezes from the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean often converge over the Florida Peninsula during they day, sometime converging with lake breezes from Lake Okeechobee as well. This convergence forces air to rise, If the air is unstable enough it will lead to thunderstorms.
I often dream of relaxing on a hammock, somewhere on a deserted tropical island.
