Amusement parks often offer seasonal jobs. They seek extra help in their busy summer months and they are less busy or closed for the rest of the year. Retail centers also often hire seasonal workers for busy seasons like Christmas shopping season.

During the 1930 a lot of workers moved from farming to the factories looking for work. This was a dangerous time for employees as they were often poor immigrants willing to work in dangerous conditions for wages.
